The Market Square Day 10K route starts at Market Square, in front of the North Church, downtown Portsmouth and finishes at Marcy Street, next to the Strawbery Banke Museum (historic Strawbery Banke). Underfoot, expect road. It passes Market Square, North Church, Congress Street and Strawbery Banke Museum. USATF-sanctioned event and part of the Seacoast Road Race Series.
Most major downtown streets are closed for the race and festival; downtown Portsmouth is vehicle-free and pedestrian-friendly from 9am to 4pm. Two performance stages feature local and regional musicians for the Market Square Day festival; neighbourhood breakfast parties and cheering crowds line the route. The day's festival features 150+ vendors and runs shine or rain. Strollers allowed at the back of the pack.
