PB, PR and BQ route planning
Shortlist races where RaceIndex has route-profile data that can support a fast-course decision: GAP factor, flat-grade share, ascent, net elevation and verified route status. Use this as a route-first starting point, then check race-day conditions, field, logistics and entry details.

These are route-profile candidates, not guaranteed PB races. The list favours low plausible GAP factor, high flat-grade share and low climbing, then leaves weather, field and logistics for the race page.

Fast routes still need sensible temperature, wind and rain signals for a realistic target attempt.
Use qualifier pages for Boston-equivalent status, then check net elevation and certification details.
Inspect the route map when stored geometry exists; use the race page when only profile data is available.
See how GAP, grade buckets, score checks and route exclusions are handled.
Boston runners should also check the official B.A.A. net-downhill and certification rules. RaceIndex route metrics are planning context, not an eligibility decision.
RaceIndex has 519 fixed-distance race pages with plausible route-profile data. This hub highlights races with high flat-grade share and low GAP factor, then links to the distance-specific flat, low-GAP, low-ascent and net-downhill rankings.
No. A flat route profile is only one part of PB planning. Race-day conditions, field depth, pacers, congestion, surface, turns, logistics and your training still matter.
GAP factor estimates the pace penalty or advantage from the route profile compared with a flat course. RaceIndex publishes it only when the stored route supports an elevation profile.
Use net-downhill as a planning signal, not a guarantee. The B.A.A. introduced net-downhill indexing for 2027 Boston registration, so runners should check the official B.A.A. rules and the organiser's certification details before choosing a BQ attempt.
Rows are excluded when RaceIndex does not yet hold a publishable elevation profile, when the distance is not a common PB/PR race distance, or when route-profile values fall outside the plausibility guard used by this hub.
