The Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race 12K route starts at Mt. Washington Auto Road at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center on Route 16, between Jackson and Gorham, NH and finishes at Summit of Mt. Washington (elevation 6,288 feet). Underfoot, expect paved (the Mt. Washington Auto Road). It passes Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center, Mt. Washington Auto Road, treeline / alpine zone, Mount Washington summit (6,288') and Mt. Washington Observatory. A single water refilling station is on the course.
There is NO bag drop area at the summit; runners give a warm clothing bag to their designated driver. Racer check-in and packet pickup is 6:30-8:00 am with photo ID required. The Mt. Washington Auto Road is closed to general traffic on race morning and opens for down-bound traffic around 12:45 pm.
