The Athora Bruges Marathon route starts at 't Zand, in the shadow of the Bruges Concertgebouw (Concert Hall) and finishes at The Grote Markt (Market Square) in the heart of Bruges, beneath the medieval Belfry. Underfoot, expect a road course. It passes 't Zand, Concertgebouw, Bruges historic city centre (UNESCO), Bruges canals and Belfry of Bruges. World Athletics certified, fast and flat route that winds through the beautiful medieval inner city of Bruges, out past the charming medieval town of Damme, and back to the finish along the tree-lined Damse Vaart canal.
Free sports bag storage with numbered stickers; use is at your own risk and fully closed bags without delicate items are recommended. The entire course is traffic-free; roads reopen progressively based on runners' positions. Nine pace groups for the marathon (target times 2:59 to 5:00) and seven for the half marathon (1:30 to 2:30), each identifiable by coloured flags.
