The Waterford Viking Marathon route starts at The Mall, Waterford, between House of Waterford Crystal and the Bishop's Palace and finishes at O'Connell Street, Waterford city centre. Underfoot, expect mix of urban city streets and the traffic-free Waterford Greenway path. It passes River Suir, Waterford Greenway, Mount Congreve Gardens, Bishop's Palace and House of Waterford Crystal. Route follows the River Suir along the Waterford Greenway out to Mount Congreve Gardens before returning to the city.
Bag drop available on The Mall near the start line; last bag taken at 8:45am. Temporary road closures in place under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993; roads reopened at 3pm. DJs play music along the route during the race. Official pacers are provided across the distances.
