Underfoot, expect 4x4 / jeep dirt mountain road throughout: 5.5 miles up the Camp Bird road from Ouray to the Lower Camp Bird mine, then 4.5 miles up the Imogene road past Upper Camp Bird to the pass, then 7.1 miles down the Tomboy road into Telluride. It passes Camp Bird Mine, Lower Camp Bird mine, Upper Camp Bird, Imogene Pass (13,114 ft) and Tomboy townsite (ghost town). runners are warned to be well prepared for any and all conditions, as the course crosses well above treeline.
