Portions of the road course are closed to traffic with Ocean City Police Department lead staff, traffic control and a sag wagon; some sections remain open and are run on the right-hand side of the road. The Longport Bridge closes at 8:00 am and is run out-and-back on the left-hand side. The boardwalk is NOT closed (shared with pedestrians, surreys, bikers and beachgoers) and runners use a roped runner's lane on the boards near the finish. Music along the course plus themed water stations where volunteer groups are judged on creative presentations. After crossing the finish line at the Music Pier, runners refuel with an Ocean City boardwalk treat bag.
