The OCNJ Half Marathon, 10 Mile & 5K (Ocean City) route starts at Base of the boardwalk off 9th Street, near the historic Ocean City Music Pier (start line in front of the Star Fish Cafe on 9th Street) and finishes at On the boardwalk at the Ocean City Music Pier (825 Boardwalk). Underfoot, expect a road course. The setting includes city and coastal. After crossing the finish line at the Music Pier, runners refuel with an Ocean City boardwalk treat bag.
Bag check is hosted inside the Ocean City Music Pier, which also hosts the award presentations. Portions of the road course are closed to traffic with Ocean City Police Department lead staff, traffic control and a sag wagon; some sections remain open and are run on the right-hand side of the road. The Longport Bridge closes at 8:00 am and is run out-and-back on the left-hand side. The boardwalk is NOT closed (shared with pedestrians, surreys, bikers and beachgoers) and runners use a roped runner's lane on the boards near the finish. Music along the course plus themed water stations where volunteer groups are judged on creative presentations. After crossing the finish line at the Music Pier, runners refuel with an Ocean City boardwalk treat bag. Entirely on the boardwalk: runners head south on the boardwalk from 9th Street to a turnaround at 23rd Street, then north back to the Music Pier finish line.
