The boardwalk is NOT closed (shared with pedestrians, surreys, bikers and beachgoers) and runners use a roped runner's lane on the boards near the finish. Music along the course plus themed water stations where volunteer groups are judged on creative presentations. After crossing the finish line at the Music Pier, runners refuel with an Ocean City boardwalk treat bag. Starts at the base of the boardwalk off 9th Street, runs through Ocean City streets out over the Longport Bridge (run on the left out-and-back), returns to the boardwalk past the Music Pier, continues to the end of the boardwalk, then turns back to finish on the boardwalk at the Music Pier.
